Pumkin Carving Anyone......

Hi-D's
Ours

Dal's

So we had the urge to carve pumpkins. Okay so I wanted to and Dal likes to make me happy. I think he ended up enjoying it more than he thought he would.
So we went to a street side pumpkin patch place and took some time picking out the perfect pumpkins. They had some stencil things that we thought looked pretty cool--so we tried them. Not to bad huh? I think we did a dang good job! They pretty much have swiveled up by now, but we sure enjoyed them while they lasted. We enjoyed them the most by putting them on the kitchen table and turning the lights out--just sat and admired our work for awhile. HA HA!
It was definitely the doing that I enjoyed most. Getting in touch with our creative sides.
We have two more that we are planning to do closer to Halloween--which is coming up fast!

A Totally Different World BYU Home Game 10/20/07

Dal and I - Look at the snow piling.

Kyle - Dal's brother, he wasn't quite as prepared
for the weather but was tough.

So I got to go to the BYU football game this past weekend. It was crazy at the beginning it rained a bit, and then the sun came out, and then as soon as the second half started--it started snowing and then snowed more and more. It was awesome! Then as soon as the game was over and we walked out of the stadium it stopped. It was so crazy--like while we were in the stadium watching the game we were in a whole different world. I was good because Dal made sure I was all bundled up. He brought a seat warmer, let me borrow his jacket, and a poncho for me. So it was completely bareable and just mostly enjoyable. I loved it!

Look at all that snow--in October! Maybe that means a good snowboarding season. YAH!!

Way too much fun

GO COUGARS!!

Our boys won another one! Go Blue! Obviously these pictures aren't from the last game since it was an away game, but I wanted to post some. Dal got season tickets this year so we get to go to all the home games. Anybody see a familiar face in this photo? (other than Dal and me)
Dal and his brothers.

My first trip to Lagoon

So, Utah has this little theme park called Lagoon. Dal and I went there for my first time ever and the first time he'd been since he was 12. We got a late start so we didn't get to see a lot of the park, but we got to ride all of the key roller coasters. Maybe we'll try going at least once more this year. It was pretty fun. ...even with the kid who dropped, and then stepped on, a catchup packet that squirted all over me and my white skirt (no worries though. Dal hand washed it for me and got it all out.)

My favorite ride was the Wicked (their newest coaster - that's the Wicked behind us in the picture) And, of course, I really liked the Rocket Re-Entry (their free fall ride)

We didn't want to haul the camera around the park all day so these are all that I have for photos.

My new table!!!

My new neighbors, Josh & Jane, had just finished moving in and were going to post this on Craigslist to sell. I'm lucky I got to it first don't you think?

Tumbling Season Winding Down...

I haven't posted in a while. Sheesh, have I felt busy lately...

There's been a lot of big changes in my life in the past few months. I made the leap, and decided to find a job outside of the world of gymnastics... well, not entirely--I intend to continue judging.

I now work as a staffing manager for SOS Staffing. It's really the perfect job for me because I get to meet new people every day. And who likes meeting new people more than me?! I'm also learning sooo much. I love it. SOS really treats their employees well and we have a lot of fun along the way. I was recently selected to participate in the corporate games. Tons and tons of fun! Baseball, golf, football, canoeing, rock climbing, frisbee, tug-of-war, basketball, dodgeball, and soccer -- all in one day! And we took 4th out of 19 teams. And ruled as the Champions of both the Home Run Derbie & the Tug-of-War! Yee-haw!! I love my life!

The baby bro went into the MTC earlier this month. I'm sure going to miss him, but I'm going to do everything I can to hook him up at least once every one of the 12 weeks he's going to be in there (he's speaking Russian.) We had a lot of fun getting the family together for a couple of days to send him off. Good ol' times goofin' around teasing each other (and the parentals), and playing games. It was so much fun for me to have my parents and bros meet Dal. I hope they like him as much as I do ;).

The tumbling season hasn't been at all bad for my first year coaching. If I may say so, we've dominated. Our team closed the season sporting 4 State Champions and 6 Regional Champions (and there's still Nationals around the corner--Way to go Steve! He made the Regional All Star Team so we are on our way to Memphis,TN) I'm so proud of my kids--all of them. They've all learned so much and come so far in just one year. End of year banquet is tomorrow. Dal's been such a HUGE help getting stuff put together for this--ordering plaques and helping me put together a DVD slideshow that I can give to all my kids. I don't know what I'd do without him! It's starting to hit me that my coaching days are really going to come to an end (at least for the foreseeable future.) But for now I'm excited to actually have a stable schedule that I can build my life around. I'm actually in the middle of preparations for the banquet now and thought I'd take a moment to let all of my friends and family who think I've fallen of the edge of the planet that I'm still alive and kickin!

The fight of life is worth every sacrifice!

The best Easter in who knows how long...

This is just some filler copy for Hi-D. I dropped the pictures in for her while she was getting herself a bowl of cereal. (you see, it took her some time because she had a difficult time deciding which kind she wanted - doesn't sound like Hi-D much, huh?) Anyway, she has some really great stories about her weekend with the family celebrating Easter and as she has the time she will come back here to drop them in. Aren't her new (2nd) cousins cute?
